Science about the effect of face masks

2021-03-18

The importance of wearing a face mask to stop COVID-19 has long been propagated, but there has been no scientific evidence.

Now, however, a report from the US  Centers for Disease Control and Protection (CDC) shows that where coercion was introduced, there is a statistically significant reduction of 1.9 percent in the increase in deaths in COVID.

It is not that the number of deaths decrease by 1.9 per cent, but the increase in deaths decreased by 1.9 per cent during the observation period which was 1 March to 31 December 2020.

Thus, deaths do not decrease by 1.9 percent, but the increase in deaths is decreased by 1.9 percent. No assessment is made as to whether this deceleration is worth the presumed risks with a face mask.

As we have already seen, face masks have proven useless in practice in global comparisons:  https://justidag.info/en/covid-updates/are-face-masks-useful/
