COVID-19 is not an illness. COVID-19 is a definition made by WHO to keep track of the SARS CoV2 virus.
Any person who tests positive for the virus SARS CoV2 or is suspected to be infected by the SARS CoV2 virus is registered as a person with COVID-19.
If the infected person gets seriously ill or dies. The cause is registered as COVID-19 no matter what the primary cause of the illness or death is.
