There is no need for vaccines in Africa

A joint statement published on the 31st of October 2021, in the Swedish daily Svenska Dagbladet made by representatives from Unicef, Karolinska, the Swedish Church and MSF (Doctors without Borders) claims that western governments have a surplus of two billion doses of vaccines.
The reason for the surplus is the well-known resistance towards vaccination among large parts of the populations in these countries.
The signatories of the full page article appeal to the governments that these vaccines should be donated to Africa and that the western governments in addition should facilitate local manufacture of vaccines in Africa.
