The Swedish Corona Commission remains on the trodden path
2 November 2021
In a scientific process, the first step should be to define the concepts to be investigated and the concepts that are used to investigate with. In the corona pandemic, the key concept is COVID-19.
COVID-19 is the healthcare system's way of registering the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
COVID-19 is not a diagnosis. COVID-19 is not a disease. COVID-19 is not a cause of death.
According to one of the central public health authorities in the USA, CDC, 6 percent of all deaths designated COVID-19 in the USA are caused by the virus SARS-CoV-2 while the rest of the deaths designated COVID-19 have other causes.
According to the Swedish Corona Commission, Sweden today counts 15,018 deaths so far in its official corona statistics. Assuming that conditions in Sweden are similar to those in the USA, the death of a little more than 900 people would have been caused by the virus SARS-CoV-2 which is the cause of the corona pandemic.
If the Commission were to use this figure - 900 deaths throughout the pandemic – it could be assumed that both its conclusions and its proposals for action in the final report, which will come in February 2022, will be different.
The Commission might then also be tempted to question whether the key concept of pandemic is applicable.
There is definitely a need for an unbiased professional scientific study of the corona pandemic.
PS. Simultaneously with the Commission's report, the figures from the News Agencies (Reuters, AP, TT) are constantly repeated: "The corona virus has so far claimed about five million lives globally"> 300,000 is already a large number, but five million is more spectacular.
